The iPhone doesn't offer automatic configuration for Comcast email, which makes the process of adding your account a bit confusing; and if you've already tried syncing your email to your device, it may not work properly if the wrong data is entered. To remedy this, you can use a couple of options to get Comcast email on your iPhone: install the Xfinity Connect app, or manually configure your email account in the Mail app using Comcast's specific server and port settings.
Xfinity Connect App
Step 1
Tap "App Store" and then type "Xfinity Connect App" in the search field. Tap the "Free" button, tap "Install App" and enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
Step 2
Tap the Xfinity app, enter your Comcast email and password; then tap the "Sign In" button to access your account.
Step 3
Tap the "All" tab, tap "Messages" and select "Email" to view your last 25 messages. Tap "Load More Messages" to view more emails in your inbox, or tap "Compose Email" to begin a new message.
Mail App
Step 1
Tap "Settings" on your iPhone's home screen, tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and then tap the "Add Account" button. This action launches the Add Account screen where you can configure your Comcast email.
Step 2
Tap "Other" and then tap the "Add Mail Account" button. Type in the required information, such as your Comcast email address and password, and then tap "Next" to continue.
Step 3
Tap the "IMAP" or "POP" button. Scroll to the Incoming Mail Server section, type "mail.comcast.net" as the Host Name and then enter your Comcast username and password in the corresponding fields. In the Outgoing Mail Server section, type "smtp.comcast.net" in the Host Name field. Tap "Next" to proceed, and then tap "Save" to finish adding your account.
Step 4
Tap your Comcast account on the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" screen, tap "Account" and then tap "Advanced" to bring up the port. Tap "Server Port" under the Incoming Settings heading and enter "995." Tap "Account" to go back to the Account screen.
Step 5
Tap "SMTP," and then tap "smtp.comcast.net" under the Primary Server heading. Slide the "Use SSL" button until it is green, which indicates that it's active. Tap "Server Port" under the Outgoing Mail Server heading, enter "465" and then tap the "Done" button to save your settings.
Step 6
Tap "Mail" on the home screen, tap "Mailboxes" and select your Comcast account under the "Accounts" section to send and receive Comcast email.

Tips
- You can also check Comcast email on your iPhone using the Safari Web browser. Launch Safari, type "m.comcast.net" in the address bar and enter your Comcast ID and password when prompted.
- When configuring Comcast on the Mail app, you typically want to choose the IMAP setting because it enables you to access email from your iPhone as well as other devices and computers. POP is more suitable only if you want to access your mail on just a particular mobile device, such as your iPhone, or your computer and nowhere else.
Warnings
